Michael Features in New Exhibition Podcast on the Wootton Coin Hoard

Northampton Museum & Art Gallery has launched a major new exhibition, A History of Northamptonshire in 100 Objects, and Michael was invited to take part by recording a podcast about the Wootton Coin Hoard.

The exhibition tells the story of Northamptonshire through 100 fascinating artefacts, each shedding light on the people, events, and industries that shaped the county.  Spanning centuries of history, it offers visitors a unique journey through time.

As one of 51 guest curators, Michael contributed to the project by exploring the significance of the Wootton Hoard — an extraordinary find of around 1,900 Roman coins discovered in a pottery jar buried near a Roman villa.  While most of the coins had fused together over time, a number of loose coins dating to AD 330-345 were recovered, offering a glimpse into the hoard's original context.

The podcasts, hosted by John Griff, accompany the exhibition and provide deeper insight into many of the objects on display.
