Michael to Join Peter Sommer Travels Exploring Crete
Michael is pleased to be returning to Crete in 2027 to join Dr Maria Girtzi as expert tour guides on two Peter Sommer Travels - Exploring Crete: Archaeology, History and Gastronomy tours.
The scheduled departures are:

These specialist study tours provide an exceptional opportunity to explore the archaeological, historical and cultural landscapes of Crete, one of the most significant regions of the ancient Mediterranean. Through visits to major archaeological sites, museums, historic settlements and landscapes, participants will examine the island's development from prehistory through the Greek, Roman and Byzantine periods, while considering the relationship between its natural environment, settlement patterns and maritime connections.
Alongside the archaeological and historical programme, the tours also introduce participants to Crete's rich cultural traditions, distinctive cuisine and diverse landscapes, providing a broader appreciation of the island's enduring heritage.
